It probably inherits its name
from the presence of the Cisterncence Monastery.
It is in the Northern point of the Island of Ponza, the canal which separates
it from the island of Gayi is only navigable with medium sized boats. Beware
of the rocks, double the copass point and go west. By passing through the rocks
one reacheas the small island of Gavi. The depth here is of approx 4 metres.
