Like in other parts of th Island ( Scotti , Conti, Guarini ) the name of the Cove derives from the surname of the collonials who inhabited it. It was previously called Cala delle Fornelle, or I Forni.
It is accessible via land and is 5 miles from the Port, therefore, a 50 minute walk. The sun is present from 9:30 am until 4:00 pm approx.
Its western side has a more jagged coastline due to the continuous atmospheric and aeolian modifications; marine erosions, which have taken place throughout the centuries.
