| Description: |
The point of the "Brecce" is
the northern extermity of the Island. Due to the difficulty, it is not reccomended
to sail through it with small boats. It is more convenient to double the stack
and to stop to admire the "Cathedral".
It is called the cathedral due to the resemblance of the rock to a Gothic cathedral
with its arches and pillars.
In the dialect of Ponza the present Cathedral was called " I Senghe ì Tramuntana"
( whch means the of the slits of the northernly winds). From the Tramontana
Cove to the Cove of the Port there are 0,5 miles (5 minutes).
